For many years, it has been one of the greatest privileges of my life to care for you and your family. Whether you’ve been with Uptown Dental for decades or recently joined our practice, the trust you’ve placed in me, and my team has meant more than words can express. The relationships we’ve built have always been the heart of this practice, and I am deeply grateful to have been part of your dental health journey.
As I considered the future of Uptown Dental, my highest priority was finding the right person to continue caring for the patients who have trusted me for so many years. It is with great confidence and excitement that I introduce you to Dr. Amber Arshad, who officially became the owner of Uptown Dental on June 1, 2026.
From the moment I got to know Dr. Amber, I knew she shared the values that have guided our practice from the beginning: compassion, honesty, respect, and exceptional clinical care. She is an outstanding dentist who genuinely enjoys building lasting relationships with her patients and making them feel comfortable and cared for. After getting to know her personally and professionally, I am confident that the future of Uptown Dental is in excellent hands.
While this marks a new chapter for our practice, many of the things you value most will remain the same. Our wonderful team will continue serving you from the same convenient location, your dental records will remain securely with the practice, and there will be no interruption to your treatment or care.
I also won’t be disappearing overnight. To make this transition as smooth as possible, I will continue seeing patients for a period of time. This will allow me to work alongside Dr. Amber, personally introduce many of you to her, and help ensure the continuity of care you have come to expect from Uptown Dental.

Dr. Belz numbs your mouth with a local anesthetic and carefully places a number of small titanium posts into your empty tooth sockets. The number of implants you get depends on how many teeth are missing and whether you’re getting a dental crown, a dental bridge, or implant-retained dentures.
After placing your dental implants, Dr. Belz provides recovery instructions and covers them with temporary restorations so you can bite and chew while your mouth heals.
The recovery process takes 3–4 months. Once the implants finish fusing with your bone, you return to Uptown Dental. Dr. Belz takes impressions of your mouth and sends them to a lab that creates your custom implant restorations.

While clear aligners are incredibly popular, traditional braces are often recommended for more severe or complex orthodontic cases. Braces exert constant, gentle pressure to slowly move teeth into their proper positions. Because they are affixed to the teeth, they work continuously and don’t rely on patient compliance (like remembering to wear trays). They are highly effective at closing large gaps, correcting severe overcrowding, and fixing significant bite issues (overbites, underbites, and crossbites).
The journey to a straighter smile begins with a comprehensive consultation. Dr. Belz will examine your teeth, take digital X-rays, and discuss your orthodontic goals. If braces are the right choice for you, the next step involves cleaning and drying your teeth before applying a special bonding glue. The brackets are then carefully attached to the center of each tooth. Once the brackets are set, the archwire is threaded through them and secured with elastic bands.
Treatment times vary widely depending on the complexity of the case, ranging anywhere from 12 to 36 months. During this time, you will visit Uptown Dental regularly (usually every 4 to 8 weeks) so that we can monitor your progress and make necessary adjustments to the wires to ensure your teeth continue moving correctly.
The application of braces does not hurt. However, it is common to experience some soreness or mild discomfort for a few days after they are first applied and after your routine adjustment appointments. This is completely normal and means the braces are working! Over-the-counter pain relievers and orthodontic wax (to prevent the brackets from rubbing against the inside of your mouth) can help manage this temporary discomfort.
